In our recently held 2009 7th Annual Women's April Showers Tournament
we hosted a total of 22 teams, 320 women players that came from 5 states, representing 140 towns. The average age of the women playing in our tournament was 42.8, The average years of experience was 6.4. Total years of experience was 2,052.

Tournament Hotel Information for 2009
Best Western, 740 Elm Street. Concord, MA, 978-369-6100
The hotel is 3.57 miles from the rink. Book by March 12, 2009 to receive the tournament room rate of $84.00 per night / double beds includes breakfast. To book your room just ask for the April Showers Tournament Room block for NEWHL. Click on link for directions from hotel to rink. The rooms sold out last year - don't wait.
About the Tournament
Three game guarantee, Semi final in some divisions (TBD), fourth game for finalists in each division. (Please let Kerri know if your team will be available to play any games during the day on Friday, April 3)
* $800 per team, $400 non-refundable deposit due by February 1st along with 2009 Registration form (pdf)
* Women players only, age 30 and over (If needed, up to 2 players on each team may be 25yrs and up)
* All play will be at Valley Sports Arena in Concord
* C/D level is intended for teams whose players are a mix of C and D, or all strong D players.
* Each team member/coach must be a current member of USA Hockey
* Each player will receive an April Showers Tournament T-shirt
* Saturday night team party for all players/coaches
* Sports Photographer on site
* Discounted room rates at the Best Western Hotel in Concord - 4 miles from rink
* Special raffle for tournament players to benefit "The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden" and the "Women's 50yr Team" from Massachusetts that will be going to the 2009 USA Hockey Nationals.

We had such a great time at April Showers that we are already planning for next year! It was our first tournament as a team...you'd think we had one the Olympics!!!
